PHENIX CITY, Ala. (WTVM) - As the school year in the Chattahoochee Valley has come to an end, one school in Phenix City sent students off with a celebration.
Mentors at the Phenix City Success Academy sponsored a pizza party and gave children final words of encouragement as they prepare for summer break.
Throughout the school year, students were mentored by members of the Shriners of the Alabama Shariff and Alabama Fa Rue Temple.
“It’s just a celebration of a prosperous year,” said Dr. Jake Golden principal of Phenix City Success Academy. “We’ve had a mentorship program that’s been going on this year with the Alabama Shariff Court and the Alabama Fa Rue Courts. They’ve come in and did mentorship and helped them with school work and just kind of counseled and did some different things. We’re bringing them together to tell them they had an outstanding school year and to send them on to have a safe summer.
The mission of the Phenix City Success Academy is to provide additional support to students, parents, and schools.
