Suspect charged in 2018 shooting death on MLK Blvd. in Columbus pleads not guilty

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A 2018 murder suspect appeared for a judge in Columbus Wednesday.

33-year-old Joseph Taylor is accused of the shooting death of Rufus Mabry in June of last year.

Mabry was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside of the MLK grocery store in Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Mabry died at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital a short time later.

Taylor pleaded not guilty in court and his case was bound over the Superior Court.
