COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The Columbus Water Works is responding to a water outage Friday night.
According to the Columbus Water Works, there is a water outage in the Lakebottom and Downtown areas following a water main break.
Traffic at Warren Williams and Wynnton roads was redirected due to flooding in the roadway.
Vic Burchfield, vice president of the Columbus Water Works, said crews immediately responded to the water outage. There was an outpour of water in the area near Joey’s Thrift Store, the Columbus Housing Authority, and Warren Williams Homes.
Burchfield daid the cause of such outages usually comes from a water main break. He said the hard part is trying to find it because it could underground or above ground.
“ Columbus Water Works is responding with all hands on deck to restore the water service as soon as possible,” said Burchfield.
