COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Across the country people are taking sides on President Donald Trump’s impeachment.

Around 50 people were seen demonstrating on Citizens Way in Columbus Tuesday evening. Some demonstrators were part of a group called Indivisible Columbus, Georgia. This local group said it uses grassroots activism and direct action to affect change.

Some people at the impeachment demonstration explained why they came out Tuesday evening.

“We are demonstrating in favor of impeachment,” said Phenix City resident Leigh Hill.

"Well, I think if this president isn’t held accountable, then we have no laws, Columbus resident Chris Blake said. “You know, and if we cannot impeach him for what we know he has done, then I think you might as well let all of the prisoners out of the prison because either we’re a nation of laws or we’re not. We can’t have it both ways.”

There weren’t any people around to verbalize their disapproval of the protest, but some drivers on Macon Road drove by honking their horns and yelling in support of the president out of their cars.
