COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A holiday tradition for decades in the Chattahoochee Valley will not return next year.
The Ludy Christmas Light Spectacular has been a staple in Columbus for at least 22 years and has gained national attention. Jerry Ludy, the man behind the lights, posted on Facebook Wednesday that the display will not appear in 2020.
“This has been a very stressful and tiring year for me,” he said in the Facebook post.
Now, Ludy wants people to come to see the lights and make a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for children in need. The goal is to raise their largest amount this year. Ludy said he wants to raise over $25,000 is They are currently behind in donations, compared to this time last year.
The Ludy Christmas Light Spectacular is on Ironstone Drive in Midtown Columbus.
