6 suspects arrested, charged with murder in deadly home invasion in Upatoi

UPATOI, Ga. (WTVM) - Six suspects have been arrested in a home invasion that left a man dead in Upatoi.

21-year-old Cross Henderson was shot at a home in the 800 block of Upatoi Ridge following an apparent invasion Friday night. He was pronounced dead at 2:07 a.m. Saturday.

According to Columbus police, the following suspects were arrested Wednesday and charged with murder:

Ceuion English, 23

Anthony Foster, 23

Trevonuis Williams, 22

Laqwane Kindred, 26

Mercedes Kraft, 17

Female juvenile

Police said the victim and the suspects were somehow acquainted.

“I’m not sure if all of them knew him, but I think some of them did," said Maj. J.D. Hawk. "They knew each other in some shape or form or people there.”

A possible motive for the murder has not been given.

All of the adult suspects were booked into the Muscogee County Jail. The juvenile was transported to a regional youth detention facility. Police said additional charged are expected.

The preliminary hearings for the suspects are scheduled for Saturday, January 25 and will be asked to be rescheduled for Tuesday, January 28 at 9 a.m.
