BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Wednesday the House Judiciary Committee passed a bill named for Aniah Blanchard.

Aniah’s law would allow judges to deny bond for all violent offenses, because right now they can only deny bond in capital cases.

The man accused of killing Aniah was already facing serious offenses, but was out on bond at the time of her murder.

If the bill passes through the full House and Senate, it would appear on the ballot in November.
