LIST: Postponed events, closures in the Chattahoochee Valley amid coronavirus concerns

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Amid coronavirus concerns, several events in the Chattahoochee Valley have been postponed or canceled and multiple businesses are closed as a safety precaution.

Columbus

  • Davis Broadcasting’s 18th annual Women’s Empowerment Luncheon new date TBA
  • UNCF’s Mayor’s Masked Ball rescheduled for August 29
  • Farm to Table(aux): Women Making History will be postponed until September 17
  • All events and programming at the River Center Center for the Performing Arts suspended until April 6
  • Springer Opera House season canceled through May
  • National Infantry Museum closed as of March 17 (Museum will remain open for previously scheduled private events)
  • Columbus Museum - Closed March 16 through April 7
  • Spring Fling - Postponed
  • The Price is Right - Postponed until August 18
  • Mike Epps Fabulously Funny Festival - Postponed, new date TBA
  • Disney on Ice - Canceled
  • Remainder of the River Dragons season- Canceled
  • All Columbus Ice Rink events - Canceled until April 5
  • Navy Federal Credit Union inside Walmart Super Center on Victory Drive - Closed until further notice
  • Synovus Bank branches - Drive-thru and appointment only beginning March 20 until further notice
  • Outlaws Saloon - Closed until further notice
  • Macy’s - Closed through March 31
  • Shoe Carnival - Closed through April 2
  • JC Penny - Closed through April 2

East Alabama

  • Covington Community Game Night in Opelika - Postponed
  • Cornhole on the Square in Opelika - Postponed
  • I Count Cookout in Opelika- Postponed
  • All Auburn Parks and Recreation - Closed through at least March 28
  • All Auburn Public Library programs- Canceled through at least March 28
  • In person courtroom proceedings in Lee County, AL - Suspended until April 16th
  • Eufaula Pilgrimage - Cancelled
  • Valley Community Center- Closed
  • Valley Senior Center- Closed - Homebound meals will be delivered to those currently receiving them. Those who eat at the center each day should call Melissa at 334-756-5256 or the community center at 334-756-5290 between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to arrange to pick up their meals or have them delivered.
  • Maneuver Center of Excellence and Fort Benning graduations and family days - Cancelled UFN
  • Phenix City-Russell County Library - Closed UFN
  • Opelika Power Services- Lobby closed as of March 17 (Payments can be made at drive-thru window)
  • Opelika Parks and Recreation games, classes, activities and programs - Canceled until March 17
  • All community census events in Opelika-Canceled until further notice
  • All Phenix City recreation centers - Closed, all spring sports and activities closed until further notice
  • All city buildings in Opelika - Closed to the public until April 5
  • Phenix City Utilities lobby - Closed as of March 23
  • Vietnam Veterans Memorial Ceremony scheduled for March 17 - Postponed indefinitely

Fort Benning

  • All graduations and family days- Canceled until further notice
  • Fort Benning community school buildings- Closed until further notice
  • Spring Infantry Week Competitions and Armor’s Sullivan Cup - Postponed until further notice

Troup County

  • Black Jacket Symphony - Rescheduled to Friday, July 17
  • Styx- Rescheduled to Friday, June 19
  • Bethel Music- New date TBA
  • Troup County Tax Commissioner’s Office- Closed March 17 through March 27
  • Great Wolf Lodge Resort - Closed through May 19

Harris County

All school buildings in Harris County - Closed from March 18 through March 31
