GBI responds to officer-involved shooting in Cuthbert

CUTHBERT, Ga. (WALB) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation responded to a shooting involving an officer with the Cuthbert Police Department, according to the agency’s Twitter.
The call came in around 1:50 p.m.
Cuthbert officers were conducting an entering auto investigation when officers came in contact with an 18-year-old suspect, Kamall Koby Edwards, according to Kim Baker, Special Agent in Charge with the GBI.
After a chase, gunshots were exchanged between the suspect and the officer.
The suspect was pronounced dead on the scene.
The GBI is still actively investigating this case.
