COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The Muscogee County School District (MCSD) is making a donation from their science classrooms to help healthcare providers in the Chattahoochee Valley.

School district officials say they will be providing the Columbus Emergency Management Agency with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for distribution to hospitals and first responders.

“We are very appreciative of all of the support we’ve received from the community as a whole,” said MCSD Superintendent Dr. David Lewis. "And if we can contribute in some small way back to our medical professionals who are putting themselves literally on the front lines as well as our first responders, our police officers, our EMS personnel, this is a way for us to give back in some small way for the community. ")

Items being donated include gowns, gloves and N95 masks.
