TSYS furloughs some employees during COVID-19 pandemic

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Global Payments confirmed it has furloughs happening across the company, including at the TSYS headquarters in Columbus.

Global Payments did not give the number of employees affected, but did say that the number is small.

A Global Payments spokesperson released the following statement:

“We have a responsibility to our team members, customers and shareholders to ensure that we are best prepared to weather this crisis regardless of its duration and to return to growth during the eventual recovery. We know the economic recovery is not going to be immediate and must take additional measures to prepare for the short and long-term financial impact on our company.”
