Teen arrested, another being sought after 16-year-old gunned down in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - One teenager is in custody and another is being sought in connection to the shooting death of a Columbus 16-year-old.

Lamarion Wright, 16, was shot and killed on Belmont St. near 6th Ave. on Friday, May 22.

Major J.D. Hawk with the Columbus Police Department has confirmed that two juveniles, ages 14 and 16, have been developed as suspects in this case.

The 16-year-old suspect has been arrested and is being charged as an adult under Ga. Senate Bill 440. He is set to make an initial appearance in Recorder’s Court on Wednesday, May 27 at 8:00 a.m.

The identity of the suspects will not be released as both are juveniles.
