COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Georgia Senator Kelly Loeffler spoke exclusively with the WTVM News Leader 9 DC Bureau about where the country finds itself.
She addressed the death of George Floyd and says she is taking legislative action on those she believes are responsible for violence and looting.
Sen. Loeffler also discussed her economic initiatives to help families still struggling from the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Couldn’t agree more with the words of George Floyd’s brother Terrence when he said ‘we must find another way to do this,’” Sen. Loeffler said. She added, “and that’s why I signed onto a bill to deem antifa and other organizations like that a terrorist, domestic terrorism, organization. We have got to stop the violence. It’s hurting our communities. It’s costing lives. It’s impacting our ability to have the important conversations that we need to have right now.”
