CSU continues mask mandate after city suspends ordinance
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - While the mayor of Columbus still encourages mask wearing, local college campuses are requiring masks be worn and have expressed their concern.
Columbus State University released a statement on how it’s taking the news of the suspension of the city’s mask ordinance. The university said the following in a statement Thursday:
University leaders agree and want to emphasize to every member of the CSU community that face coverings are still required while on our campus and in our facilities. The university credits face coverings, as well as diligence adherence to physical distancing and hand-washing guidance to be the reasons behind CSU’s low infection rates — which, as of Monday, included only six active positive, self-reported cases on campus.
