COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A Columbus man faced a judge Friday and pleaded not guilty to murder.

Joshua Irby, 27, is charged with the murder of 32-year-old Jeremy Sewell. Sewell was fatally shot in July in the 4100 block of 16th Avenue.

Investigators said Kirby admitted to being at the scene of the crime and having a gun, but claims he didn’t shoot Sewell.

Irby remains in the Muscogee County Jail. His case was bound over to Superior Court.
