COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - We finished off Sunday on a much drier note with many of us only seeing an isolated shower if that. Tonight into Monday will be much of the same with a spot shower Monday morning, but otherwise main dry with peaks of sunshine into Monday afternoon. Temps still rather warm as we make it to near 80 degrees tomorrow. Our attention turns to Tropical Storm Zeta that is forecast the become a hurricane in the Gulf. As of today, Zeta is forecast to track towards the eastern Louisiana coastline by Wednesday. Anybody from New Orleans, LA to Panama City, FL should watch this closely. For us in the Chattahoochee Valley this would mean a pretty stormy Wednesday night and Thursday (70% rain coverage). In total, 1-3 inches of rain and gusty winds look to be the best guess right now, and we never can rule out a spin up tornado or two. Of course this track is subject to change and likely will make our forecasts highly variable every day for the next few days.
