COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Warm temperatures will be back on Tuesday with highs in the lower 80s and a slight chance of a few showers. During the day on Wednesday, bands of rain and a few storms are possible, as Zeta will near landfall in Louisiana by Wednesday night. Conditions will stay mostly cloudy and it will become breezier through the day. Overnight Wednesday into the day on Thursday, the area will be impacted by Zeta, which should weaken to a tropical storm as it moves quickly north and east. Rain, gusty winds, and isolated storms that could provide a tornado risk are the main concerns for the Chattahoochee Valley as of right now, but we will be able to fine-tune the timing of the threats as we get a little closer to landfall. I don’t think this will provide a major flood risk like Delta did, but it could be a windier system - we will have to watch! Beyond that, a cold front arrives Friday, knocking the highs back in the 70s and lows down into the 50s. Halloween weekend looks fantastic - lots of sun and highs in the 60s on Saturday with temperatures in the 50s Halloween night. Sunday, clouds will increase ahead of a secondary shot of cooler air that will stick around into early next week.
