Columbus-filmed “Electric Jesus” to open Orlando Film Festival

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The Columbus-filmed “Electric Jesus” will be opening the Orlando Film Festival Thursday night.

Electric Jesus, written and directed by Chris White, will become available virtually at 7:00 p.m.

The feature film includes Judd Nelson, famous for his role as John Bender in “The Breakfast Club” and Brian Baumgartner, who played Kevin Malone in the hit TV series “The Office.”

The film also stars Columbus native Will Oliver as the lead guitarist.

The movie is set in the summer of 1986 and tells the story of Christian hair metal band who hits the road for the summer and gets the opportunity to open for Stryper, a real Christian hair metal band.
