COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Expect chilly temperatures heading into the overnight hours tonight with 30s and 40s across the Chattahoochee Valley and a clear sky. Going into Tuesday, the sunshine will return with seasonable temperatures - in the 60s - after the chilly start. For our Wednesday, there will be the chance of rain and a few storms as we progress through the day with the coverage around 30-50% late in the afternoon and into the evening. It appears rain and storms may linger overnight, and we can’t rule out showers and storms during the first part of our Thanksgiving Day. Most of the area will begin to dry out by the afternoon and evening on your Turkey Day with isolated showers returning on Friday. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s. Expect even higher rain chances for the weekend and the first part of next week with the coverage going up to 50-70% for Saturday through Monday. A big cool-down should be on tap for us by Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, but we’ll keep fine-tuning things as we get closer. We’ll also keep a watch out for the timing of any rain for Wednesday and Thursday of THIS week.
