COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The Urban League of Greater Columbus is launching a national search for a new leader.
President and CEO Susan Cooper said she’s retiring at the end of December.
The local businesses woman and community activist started as a board member in 2004 and then became board chair. She was asked to lead the organization in 2012.
Urban League Chair Vincent Bell said the organization is forever indebted to the tireless dedication that Cooper has given to the Urban League and the community for the past seven years. He said she embodies the league’s mission of empowering communities and changing lives because that is exactly what she has done for the city of Columbus.
