UPDATE: Teenager shot, killed, two others injured on Epworth St. in Phenix City

PHENIX CITY, Ala. (WTVM) - A teenager has died after a Saturday night shooting in Phenix City.

Officers were called to the 1700 block of Epworth St. at approximately 7:43 p.m. in reference to a shooting.

On the scene, officers found one person dead from a gunshot wound and two others injured.

The name of the deceased victim is not being released pending notification of next of kin. Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. confirms, however, that this victim is 16-years-old.

He was pronounced dead at 10:40 p.m. His body is being sent to the Alabama Department of Forensics on Monday for an autopsy.

The two other victims were taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional for treatment of their injuries, which are non-life threatening.

Police have not reported whether or not they have any potential suspects.
