COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Well, we’ve finally made it to Friday, but the weather unfortunately will stay on the cloudy and dreary side. Light rain showers during the morning should fade away into the afternoon hours, but still cold, overcast, and brisk with temperatures struggling to warm up above the upper 40s. Before heading to bed tonight, make your cold weather preps again as near freezing temperatures will return for Saturday and Sunday mornings. Some clouds will stick around for Saturday before more sunshine returns on Sunday. Highs over the weekend will top out near 50 on Saturday and run a few degrees warmer on Sunday.
Another round of wet weather returns for Monday with a chance of rain throughout the day and the possibility for isolated showers on Tuesday. Winter weather likely won’t be in the cards for us with this system though. After a chilly and wet start to the week, sunshine returns in full by the middle of next week with highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s – very seasonable January weather.
