COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Two area athletes sewed up their spots at the next level on Thursday.
Pacelli’s Keyshaun Fleetion accepted a basketball scholarship from Voorhees College in South Carolina, while Russell County’s Lee Camper signed to play football at Faulkner University in Montgomery. Both were excited for their futures and what it means to be able to continue their athletic careers and their education.
“It’s very exciting,” said Fleetion. “I’ve been praying for this day for so long, and now it’s here. It’s big. It’s everything I’ve dreamed of, just being able to further myself. Basketball’s a platform to further my education and help me.”
“It was very important,” Camper said. “The guys, especially the seniors, we really wanted to make it out. We wanted to put Russell County’s name on the map. I’m very grateful that everybody came and that supported me getting on the football field and showcasing my skills and getting my degree.”
