MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (WTVM) - Mac Jones threw five touchdown passes, DaVonta Smith had 12 receptions for 215 yards and three scores, and Najee Harris accounted for three TDs as the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide crushed the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes 52-24 to claim the 2020 college football national championship. The game was played at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla.

Tide head coach Nick Saban set a record with his seventh national title, breaking a tie with another legendary Alabama coach, Bear Bryant.

Alabama (13-0) broke the game open in the second quarter, with Jones finding Smith on touchdown passes of 5, 5, and 42 yards, with a 26-yard catch and run by Harris. Jones wound up the night 36-of-45 passing for 464 yards and five touchdowns.

Ohio State (7-1) quarterback Justin Fields was 17-of-33 for 194 yards and one touchdown.
