COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - In a challenging college football season, because of the coronavirus pandemic, fans made it to Monday night’s national championship game.
Alabama fans around the Chattahoochee Valley are rooting on the Tide.
Alabama fans and Ohio State fans both watched the game at Outskirts Sports Bar & Grill Monday night. Outskirts is a veteran-owned sports bar that first opened its doors in April. The co-owners say bringing in business anytime there is a big event, like the National Championship, is especially important.
They had a few specials for the game and say they’re just overall excited to be able to be open.
“We’re just excited to be here. First year. First National Championship. We’re ready to rock it,” said co-owner Joshua Wester.
“I think it’s been pretty good. Good crowd for Monday night. People are getting excited about the game. The bar is full. Got tables filling up so far,” added co-owner Bobby Judge.
Wild Wing Sports Café was also open for the National Championship game. The manager says they usually have standing room only at their restaurant for the games, but the crowd started picking up a little around game time.
