SMITHS STATION, Ala. (WTVM) - Due to COVID-19 protocols, Smiths Station’s fall signing day was postponed to January.
That delay led to the gathering of 17 students who signed to play their respective sports at the next level.
Here is a complete list of where each of the 17 students will be attending.
Softball

Paige Downing - Brenau University

Baseball
Jacob Blackmon - Northwest Florida State College
Gavin Blair - Central Alabama Community College
Ellis Yohn - Tennesse-Martin
Clayton Freeman - Central Alabama Community College
Caden Hare - Central Alabama Community College
Luke Hasty - Central Alabama Community College
Trenton Hodgdon - West Virginia University
“Well, as soon as I went to Morgantown I fell in love with the place,” Hodgdon said. “When I get there, I feel like I’ll be a part of a family and I feel like I’m going to enjoy it.”
Football
Jordan Jones - Georgia State University
“Mainly, I’m going to miss my coaches and teammates, it’s a really great school with a whole lot of great people here.” Jones said.
Volleyball

Janie Marie Messer - Point University
Track & Field / Cross Country
Jaxon Prins - Columbus State University
“I’m going to miss the family atmosphere. We all take care of each other and we all love and support each other,” Prins said.
