COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Thursday morning will start out with some patches of freezing fog in spots, which means some slick spots can’t be ruled out, especially on elevated surfaces. We’ll keep an eye on it for you, but the temperatures will warm up in a big way by the afternoon and evening with highs nearing the 60 degree mark after a start in the 20s and 30s. Expect a lot of sunshine in the afternoon, but clouds roll in again on Friday with a few isolated showers possible with the next disturbance moving through. This will bring in much colder air for the weekend with highs in the upper 40s and lower 50s and lows again in the 20s and 30s. We should start off next week relatively dry with a warming trend as highs climb back to near 60 by Tuesday. The next rain chance - a more potent storm system - rolls in by Wednesday and Thursday of next week.
