COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Finally seeing a return of sunshine for Wednesday morning, but don’t get too ecstatic! We’ll still see some passing clouds today and can’t completely rule out a light rain shower or patchy drizzle as a disturbance passes through the Southeast. Most of us should stay dry and cool today though with highs rebounding a bit into the low 50s. Overnight temperatures will fall to freezing again with mostly sunny skies in store for Wednesday and a seasonable afternoon in the mid 50s. Friday morning doesn’t look quite as cold as some clouds move in (and perhaps some isolated showers) ahead of a cold front sweeping through by the weekend.
Expect another blast of Arctic air to settle in through MLK weekend with lots of sunshine and below average temperatures with freezing mornings and upper 40s and low 50s in the afternoons. Apart from Friday and the possibility of some isolated showers Sunday night into Monday (which isn’t even a guarantee at this time), our forecast looks pretty dry into early next week. We’re eyeing the possibility of some rain and thunderstorms back in the forecast by the middle of next week though, so we’ll keep you posted.
