TROUP COUNTY, Ga. (WTVM) - The Troup County Board of Commissioners has announced that a new Emergency Management Director has been named.
Michael Strickland has more than 30 years in fire and emergency services.
Most recently, Strickland served as a firefighter/EMT, paramedic, sergeant, lieutenant, fire inspector and captain before his retirement earlier this month.
“My career has focused strongly on the health and safety of our team. I am fully committed to finding the most efficient way to serve all citizens of Troup County.” Strickland said.
“We are excited to have Michael onboard as our new Emergency Management Director. We felt that he was the right leader to build and cultivate relationships with our key partners so that we could ultimately serve the citizens of Troup County and beyond”, said Eric Mosley, County Manager.
Strickland will directing and coordinate the Emergency Operations Center. He will also develop and implement pre-disaster mitigation strategies and planning.
