RUSSELL COUNTY, Ala. (WTVM) - An overnight shooting has claimed the life of a 32-year-old Phenix City man.
Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. says the shooting happened near Dillingham Street in Phenix City at approximately 3 a.m.
Sumbry Jr. said that 32-year-old Curtis Upshaw was pronounced dead from multiple gunshot wounds at 12:54 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27, at Piedmont Columbus Regional.
Upshaw’s body will be sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery, Ala.
The shooting is under investigation by Phenix City Police Department and Russell County Coroner’s Office. This is the sixth homicide in Russell County this year.
