COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - After a few showers around on Monday, look for a big increase in the chances of rain heading into Tuesday. The day appears to be pretty close to a washout with rain through much of the day and evening, lingering into Tuesday night and even very early on Wednesday morning. Several inches of rain is Temperatures will back off in a big way on Tuesday with highs only in the 40s and 50s with the soaking rain. We’ll see upper 50s and lower 60s on Wednesday as clouds clear out after the morning showers move out. Thursday and Friday look beautiful with highs back in the 60s and 70s with a sunny sky on Thursday and increasing clouds on Friday. The next storm system will move in on Saturday with a 20-40% coverage of showers across the Chattahoochee Valley and highs back in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Look for a brief cool-down by Sunday and early next week, but the 60s and 70s will make a return by Tuesday and Wednesday of next week with dry weather on tap for Sunday through at least next Wednesday.
