COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - We’ve somehow made it to another March and the first day of meteorological spring! In true spring fashion, Monday morning brings some scattered showers across the Valley, but rain chances don’t look quite as promising this afternoon though still expect more clouds than sun around. A cold front approaching the Southeast will bring a cooldown over the next 24 hours in addition to more widespread rain for Tuesday. Temperatures won’t get any warmer than 70 today and for Tuesday, we will struggle to reach 50. So, prepare for a cold, soaking rain on Tuesday that will last into the evening hours tomorrow before clearing out early Wednesday morning. A good 1 to 3 inches of rain is possible for Tuesday before the rest of the work week looks much drier in comparison.
Clouds around Wednesday morning will give way to more sunshine through Friday. Look for more seasonable temperatures mid-week and beyond with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s. A passing disturbance will bring low rain coverage for Saturday (10-20%), and likely mostly of us will stay dry with temperatures topping out in the upper 50s. Sunday’s weather looks much sunnier in comparison with seasonable, dry weather sticking around through early next week.
