COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Fire crews put out a small fire at the Campbell’s Snacks plant in downtown Columbus Monday morning.
According to Chief Kevin Lott, a peanut roaster vent caught fire from some residue. There was a lot of smoke but the fire was small. No injuries were reported.
The Columbus plant is formerly known as Tom’s Foods and was acquired by Lance in 2005. Campbell acquired the facility in its 2018 acquisition of Snyder’s-Lance.
