COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Jay Croop scored two first period goals to lead the Columbus River Dragons to a 4-1 win over the Elmira Enforcers on Friday night at the Columbus Civic Center.
Croop scored his first goal at the 2:27 mark off of a centering pass by Vojtech Zemlicka, sliding it under the left pad of Troy Passingham. After Brett Gravelle evened the game with a goal with seven minutes remaining in the opening period, Croop redirected a pass from Ivan Bondarenko to give the River Dragons the lead for good.
Nate O’Brien and Chase Fallis had goals in the second period to round out the scoring.
Jared Rutledge had 20 saves to earn the victory.
The River Dragons and Enforcers play again on Saturday night at 6:35 pm ET in a game that will be televised on Bounce TV (WTVM 9.2). They wrap up the series with a game on Sunday at 4:05 pm.
