COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The GEMA mass vaccination site in Columbus has reached a milestone achievement.

The clinic at the Columbus Civic Center, which is one of nine state-run vaccination sites, has administered its 10,000th dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Last week, the site began allowing a limited number of those without appointments to come to the site and receive the vaccine.

Prior to the site’s opening Muscogee County EMA Director Chance Corbett confirmed that this site would be giving out approximately 1,100 doses of the Pfizer vaccine per day.

Gov. Kemp has now extended eligibility requirements so that the vaccine is now available for all adult Georgians.
