Strong to Severe Storms Possible Wednesday
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - We are tracking the potential for strong to severe storms across the Valley as a line of thunderstorms moves through. The timing will be from 1-8 PM ET for our viewing area to move through the Chattahoochee Valley. Main threats will be pockets of damaging straight line winds along the line, heavy rainfall, frequent lightning, and hail. While we cannot completely rule out the threat for a brief, weak tornado that threat looks to be very low for today. That being said, make sure you have a way to receive watches and warnings just in case anything comes out.
Once these storms move through, we will get into a much more settled forecast over the next 9 days. We are tracking the potential for some frost on Friday and Saturday mornings with lows in the low-to-mid 30s while afternoon highs are only in the upper 50s and lower 60s. By Sunday, highs climb back to the 70s and reach the 80s by the middle of next week. Abundant sunshine will be the story through the end of next week!
