Masks required in Opelika schools through the end of school year

OPELIKA, Ala. (WTVM) - Despite the governor of Alabama lifting mask requirements across the state, Opelika schools will continue to require the use of masks.

According to Superintendent Dr. Mark Neighbors, students and staff will be required to wear masks until the end of this school year.

Neighbors says he believes it is important to finish the year with current guidelines to help maintain low coronavirus cases throughout the end of May.
