COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Tonight we have our eye on what could be a strong line of rain and storms with severe wind gust potential as it moves in to our neck of the woods. The main time of concern will be between 8 PM and midnight ET with damaging wind potential of 60-70 mph in pockets along the line. The tornado risk is low, but will be monitored. Once the storms pass through tonight, we will have one more round of rain and storms to deal with on Wednesday, but these will not be severe or damaging. We will briefly cool down on Thursday and Friday with highs back in the 70s and lows in the 40s and 50s for Friday and Saturday mornings. Mother’s Day weekend looks fantastic with lots of sunshine and highs back in the 80s. Our next rain chances roll in early next week on Monday and Tuesday with highs staying in the 80s. Be near a source of weather information tonight and take severe thunderstorm warnings seriously as these storms move in!
