Rising gas prices amid Russia invasion
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The Russia-Ukraine Crisis is expected to make gas prices even higher all over the country.
While soldiers are preparing for what could happened next in the Russia Ukraine conflict, people should also begin to brace themselves for high fuel prices.
There are several ways to keep your gas prices down. Montrae Waiters, a Triple A spokeswoman, says a good tip to preserving fuel is to take any and all unnecessary, heavy items out of your car.
Taking advantage of fuel rewards and downloading the Triple A app to find lower gas prices can also help in keeping your gas expense low.
Waiters says gas has been increasing a small percentage each week and could rise even higher as soon as next week due to the tension of the invasion.
“So again it’s kind of like a wait and see. We are going to have to see what the impact from Russia invading Ukraine is going to look like in the next week or so.” expains Waiters.
In Columbus, the average price for gas is now $3.46 per gallon.
