Traffic stop leads to drug bust on 35th St. in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A man is behind bars following a traffic stop that led to a drug bust, says the Columbus Police Department (CPD).
On Sept. 27, officers with CPD arrested Deondre L. Snipes after conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle for a brake violation on 35th Street.
According to officers, they noticed a strong scent of marijuana coming from the car.
Three people in the car were detained while the vehicle was searched. The following items were seized:
- 97.5 grams of marijuana
- .5 liquid THC cartridges
- Drug-related objects (digital scales and bags)

Snipes was taken into custody and charged with the following,
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of a Schedule I Control Substance (THC)
- Possession and use of drug-related objects
- Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime
- Brake light violation
Police released the two other occupants.
