Columbus woman pleads not guilty in weekend shooting on Enoch Dr.
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A 49-year-old woman has been arrested following an altercation that led to another woman being hospitalized after being shot several times on Enoch Drive in Columbus.
According to police, on Nov. 26, just before 7 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 1000 block of Enoch Drive.
When they arrived, police found a female victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional for treatment. Police say that although her injuries were severe, she is currently in stable condition.
Through an investigation, authorities discovered that the victim was involved in an argument with another woman, Robin Sayers. During the dispute, Sayers pulled a pistol on the victim and shot her multiple times.
Investigators executed a search warrant, and Sayers was arrested at the scene.
The suspect was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
During her preliminary hearing, Sayers pleaded not guilty. Her case has been bound over to Superior Court.
