Teen injured in overnight shooting near Wellborn Drive in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The Columbus Police Department have reported a shooting in the area of Wellborn Dr. and Edgechester Ave. that left one injured.
According to officials, the victim is 14-year-old male, and he was shot in the back.
He suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Piedmont Hospital.
Officials say the shooting took place at approximately 10 p.m. on August 31.
No details about what led to the shooting have been released.
