COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A local philanthropist and breast cancer survivor and the Miracle Riders donated Country’s Barbecue lunches and cupcakes to the John B. Amos Cancer Center and Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown Oncology unit staff.

They served 180 people, and the cupcakes were decorated with a pink ribbon for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Wanda Amos and the Miracle Riders honored those currently in treatment, survivors and caregivers who provide support and treatment for those with breast cancer. They also hope to raise awareness about early detection of breast cancer.

One in eight women have a chance of developing breast cancer, according to the American Cancer Society. It is also the second most common cancer in women in the United States.
