COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - We kick off the work week mostly cloudy and a bit less muggy than we have been over the last week or so. Highs will only reach the upper-70s with more clouds around, but we could still see some isolated showers throughout the day today. For Tuesday we start to transition into this more wet period as Tropical Storm Zeta moves into the Gulf of Mexico. We will see tropical moisture returning to the Chattahoochee Valley and that will help us to see more showers and storms around, especially in the evening hours. The best shot at a shower or storm will come on Thursday when the center of Zeta moves nearby after landfall somewhere from the Louisiana to the Alabama coast. As always, if we are on the right side of the center of Zeta we could see some heavy rain, gusty winds, and brief spin-up tornadoes. We will continue to fine-tune this forecast for you and keep you updated on air, online, and in the WTVM Weather App.
