Darran Todd joined the WALB news team in May of 2019 as a multimedia journalist. Darran was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi but always wanted to travel and learn the world of broadcasting. Shortly after completing community college at Hinds in Raymond, Mississippi with his associate's degree, Darran moved to Atlanta. Darran graduated from Clark Atlanta University in the spring of 2018 with his bachelor’s degree in broadcasting. While in Atlanta, Darran interned at WGCL-CBS46. Darran’s drive and dedication for journalism came from watching reporters in the newsroom make a difference in the community by giving light to stories and individuals' lives. He fell in love with the hustle and workload of a journalist. When he isn’t chasing stories for WALB, you can find him at the gym or out enjoying all that life has to offer Darran loves the history and culture that the city of Albany has to offer and has really adjusted to a new city.
