Georgia's economy is worse than most states

ALBANY, GA (WALB) – The country's economy continues to struggling, and Georgia's is worse than most states.

A new mid-year study by show Georgia has the sixth weakest state economy. That's mainly because of our high unemployment.

Steven Mohl was unemployed until three months ago Doughnut Factory when the Doughnut Factory opened. The store now employees ten people.

Mohl was having a hard time finding a job in South Georgia.

In the last year and a half, Georgia has lost about 75,000 jobs.

As for Albany's unemployment rate, it's still high at 11% compared with 10.4% in May and 9.8% in June of last year.
