Church Van Overturns, Attorney General's Son Ejected

Macon County, AL (WSFA) - State troopers are investigating an accident involving Montgomery's First Baptist Church van.

Troopers tell WSFA 12 News the crash happened around 9:45am on Saturday near the Shorter exit. Troopers say the van's tire blew out causing the crash.

We are told 6 teenagers and one adult were hurt and were taken to Baptist Hospital in Montgomery for treatment. Initial reports are the victims do not have life threatening injuries.

Attorney General Troy King's son Briggs King was one of the passengers on the bus. Authorities say he has lacerations on his face and legs,  and one confirmed broken arm. Many church members are at the hospital praying.

Interstate 85 was closed in both directions while choppers landed to take the victims to the hospital.
