Man on the run after taking woman's purse and money bags

VALLEY, AL - On Wednesday around 8:15 p.m. officers of the Valley Police Department were called to a residence in the 1000 block of California Street in reference to an alarm call.

Upon arrival at the residence, officers spoke with Della Milner, owner and operator of Milner's Grocery.

Ms. Milner told officers that she had just arrived home from closing the store and, when she went to enter her home, she was approached from behind by an unknown assailant.

Ms. Milner stated that the suspect shoved her to the floor, took her purse and three money bags, and then left in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as being a short, heavyset white male, wearing a dark ball cap, dark t-shirt and dark pants.

A canine officer with the Chambers County Sheriff's Office arrived on scene and attempted to track the suspect.

Ms. Milner was treated for minor injuries at the scene by Valley Emergency Medical Services.
