ATLANTA (WTOC) - Starting this month, the state of Georgia will use a new formula to determine when recipients will receive their benefits.

Benefits will now be distributed based on the last two digits of the Client ID for the head of household, according to the Georgia Dept. of Human Services.

Food stamp benefit amounts will not change and the date will still be between the fifth and 14th of each month, according to the Dept. of Human Services.

A Client ID is the number assigned to each Division of Family & Children Services client when they apply for food stamps.

The Client ID is printed on all notices received from the Dept. of Human Services. The Client ID can be used to create an online account at the COMPASS website, www.compass.ga.gov. Where DFCS clients can apply for eligibility, check their benefits, report changes and renew benefits.
