COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Produce for Kids is teaming up with local Publix stores for the Healthy Families, Helping Kids campaign that raises money for local health and nutrition-based classrooms through DonorsChoose.org. Last year, the campaign raised more than $105,000 for 420 classroom projects that encouraged Columbus students to have healthy relationships with food.

No-Bake Granola Bars
Serves: 10
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Refrigeration Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
1½ cup old fashioned oats
½ cup almonds, sliced
½ cup pecans, sliced
½ cup dried cranberries
½ cup dried blueberries
¼ cup chocolate chips
¼ cup almond butter (or peanut butter as substitute) ¼ cup honey
Directions:
1. Mix oats, almonds, walnuts, pomegranate, blueberries and chocolate chips in large mixing bowl. Set aside.
2. Heat almond butter and honey in small saucepot over low heat 2-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until smooth. Add almond butter/honey mixture to oat/fruit mixture and stir until just incorporated. Roll mixture into 20 1½-inch balls. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate 30 minutes, or until set.
Fruity Pumpkin Pie Smoothie
Serves 4
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
1 cup canned pumpkin purée
2 cups lowfat vanilla yogurt
1 cup spinach, loosely packed
½ cup pomegranate juice
1 medium banana
1 medium mango, chopped
1 tsp. cinnamon
⅛ tsp. cloves
Directions:
1. Place pumpkin, yogurt, spinach, juice, banana, mango, cinnamon and cloves into blender. Blend until smooth.
Suggested Sides for a Complete Meal:
• 1 slice whole wheat toast with 1 Tbsp. nut butter
